The binding is rubbed & bumped and the head & tail of the spine are chipped. 165 & [2] pages. The book is partially cracked at page 40. Illustrated with a frontispiece. There is scattered foxing with light staining to the rear pastedown & endpaper and to the front edges of a number of rear leaves. There is some damage to the edge of page 125/6 affecting 6 or 7 letters. Good. The book was originally published in the seventeenth century.Thomas Hooker [1586-1647] was the founder of the Colony of Connecticut. The frontispiece depicts Thomas Hooker's house and the first church built for Christian worship in Connecticut.Scarce.
