New York: Harper & Brothers, 1876. - Squarish octavo, brown cloth elaborately titled, decorated & illustrated in gilt on the front cover & spine. All edges gilt. The covers are slightly soiled with some light wear to the corners and head and tail of the spine. 163 pages and a 4 page publisher's catalog. Profuesly illustrated throughout by Alfred Fredericks, including several full-page black & white plates. Bookplates have been removed from the pastedowns and the front hinge is starting to crack. One signature is pulled and there is some occasional soiling. Very good. The contents include: "All About Job", "The Old Clock That Tells a Story", "Adventures of a Sea-Shell", "How Biorn Discovered America", "One of a Cat's Lives", "The Oak-Tree Sprite", "Rapp, the Gnome King", "Nip's Story", "The Green Belt", "The House that Jacques Built", "The Fairy Regatta", "The Dove Maiden" and "The First Cocoa-nut".
