San Francisco, CA: California Historical Society, 1937. - Large octavo, tan cloth with printed label on spine & color pictorial label on front cover. The covers are lightly bumped & very lightly soiled with slight fraying to the bottom corner of the front cover; the spine & label are slightly faded & rubbed. Title, [iii], 57 & [7] pp. plus colophon, partially unopened. The edges of the endpapers are darkened; 4 leaves have been rougly opened & there is slight soiling to the contents page. Illustrated in B&W with portrait frontispiece, 2 full-page illustrations & 4 plates, including 2 folding maps printed on tissue. Despite its flaws, a very nice copy. Includes a bibliography of one hundred works relating to Sir Francis Drake, compiled by Eleanor Bancroft.
