Burgundy cloth titled in gilt on the front cover & the spine with decorations in gilt on the front cover. The top edge is gilt. There is a slight bump to the bottom edge of the front cover. xvi, 78 & [2] pages, illustrated with a color frontispiece, 7 color plates and 16 plates reproduced in monochrome. There is but minor foxing to the first 2 leaves. Very good. First American edition. The terracottas reflected the daily life of the Greeks, an appreciation of which Miss Hutton offers us through the reflective prism of her classical learning and artistic discrimination.
