The covers are sunned & have some minor soil, spine joints of both volumes started, fore edge of one folding plate just a bit worn, but the plates are crisp & sharp, very clean & tight overall. A made-up set consisting of 174 color plates of which nine are folding, one folding color map, one page of music and one page of text from a Russia volume. The plates are from the volumes on Africa, Russia, Hindoostan, Persia and possibly eastern Europe. Many have the Ackermann imprint and are dated either !821, 1822 or 1823. A curious and delightful set of hand colored plates. Sold as a collection of plates.
