Very Good. 1st edition, (Mostly All First Editions), mostly published by Redfield (13 volumes by Redfield, 7 by various other authors), dates range from 1827 to 1856, all volumes are red half leather bindings with marbled boards and five raised bands (someone has carefully collected Simms books and bound them uniformly). All of the books are in very good shape, clean and attractive, and all are internally tight with solid bindings. Spines are all darkened (so that red looks like maroon), light wear to corners, previous owner's bookplate affixed to pastedown endpapers, dime size chip to top of spine of two volumes. otherwise an excellent set overall of a very hard to find author.
