Scattered foxing, front hinge appears to have been mended; else very good According to Locke: "Lost Race adventure novel, slightly tongue-in-cheek, in which a loveable rogue in the best tradition of nineteen thirties loveable rogues, Savaran, crosses the Sahara to find a race of Amazons, complete with a resident monster and a queen." A description of this novel from an unknown source is affixed to the rear paste-down. It reads: "In the second half of this novel a party of explorers find a lost Amazon kingdom in the midst of a desert. Thrill follows thrill, and there is the expected last-minute rescue of chained victims from the jaws of the monstrous Dweller of the Sacred Pool. Vigor, sensation and action throughout this rollicking adventure thriller.
