Enirque De Villena (1384-1434) was a medieval Spanish marquess of Villena, writer, theologian and poet, as well as the last legitimate descendant of the old counts of Barcelona, the former royal house of Aragon. His interest in science and astrology as well as other religious mystical systems saw him gain a reputation as a necromancer during his lifetime. This work, Treatise on Astrology, attributed to De Villena, appropriates biblical discourse, defends magical and astrological representations of Jewish cult objects like the Tabernacle and the Temple, represents Moses as an astrologer and practitioner of talismanic magic and identifies Zoroaster as the founder of magic. 181pp. ISBN 8433569996.
