This thinly-veiled propaganda newspaper, issued daily, was provided for passengers aboard Hamburg-Amerika ships (i.e., Lloyd), German mainly but much English, many articles translated but not all and the grimmer aspects of a coming war was left for the speculation of German readers only, each 8 pages, photos, ads, taped pages as very delicate and apt to tear; a chilling feeling of the tension and growing fear of war in those last months of peace when people still took oceanic vacations to Europe or New York.
