Dark blue leatherette boards with gilt titles; gilt 390th logo on the front board. 472 pages, with thousands of photos, maps, and illustrations (some in color). One of the most outstanding unit histories from World War II. Solid book with bright boards, light wear, and small corner bumps. Some rubbing to spine titles. Light browning along the edges of the front and rear pastedowns; from bindery glue. Strips of discoloration on the front and rear free endpapers (from tape once used to secure a plastic protective cover over the boards--why the boards are so bright). Narrow dampstain along the fore-edges of last 2 pages (text not affected). Good to VG. Included is a separate typed letter from The Story of the 390th Bomb Group Book Committee, advertising the sale of 7 large color prints, from the plates used in the book. Good.
