Buchanan DD-484, on March 21, 1942. 3.5" by 6.5" envelope, with an embossed Naval insignia, and the words "U.S.S. Buchanan DD 484 First Day in Commission". Cancelled stamp, with a postmark of "Jersey City, N.J. Mar. 24 1942". Envelope has scattered soiling and small corner-creasing. "3 21 1942" written in ink on insignia. Good. Also, there is a separate small b&w photo of a woman. The Buchanan was a Gleaves-class destroyer, and was built by the Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. Kearny, New Jersey. Good.
