Rolled gilt borders on front & rear boards and board edges. Marbled edges & endpapers. 472 pages with many excellent full-page engraved illustrations, including frontis. Small engraving on title page. Solid book with bright boards, minor edge-scuffing, and a small scrape on rear board. 1/2" crack at bottom of outer hinge, on the rear board. Small chips at spine extremities. A hint of spine sunning; spine gilt & titles still bright. Teeny corner of front free endpaper is missing. Text is clean & bright. VG. Very Good.
