Cromwell Lawrence. First edition hardcover, no jacket. Size: 4to. Unpaginated. Tan cloth spine with red titles; glossy illustrated paper over boards. Front & rear boards are the same: a color illustration of a boy pushing a girl in a swing. Wonderfully illustrated and hand-lettered by T. Cromwell Lawrence. Somewhat politically incorrect, as it refers to a Japanese boy as a Jap, and a doll of a Chinaman with a long pigtail is referred to as 'a real Chinee'. Solid book with bright boards has much edge-scuffing. Small chipping to edges of board illustrations. Moderate soiling to boards. Small crayon numeral on rear pastedown. Text extra-bright and clean; 2 pages have vertical creasing. Quite scarce. Good. Good.
