Note from Binders at rear end-papers read "This is a temporary binding. The spine linings are attached with hide glue and linen thread, all are reversible. Because of the unusual shape of this book the original boards were re-used." Volume contains facsimile copies of numerous historical documents and manuscripts, many of which fold out, along with transcriptions into typed script. Most are in Latin, some in English. Volume contains 10 engraved plates showing seals and four of the facsimile documents contain colour.
