In Inghilterra, dove Senior era professore ad Oxford, erano state pubblicate tra il 27 e il 30 una serie di lezioni. Su sollecitazione di Arrivabene, Senior inviò al suo amico numerosi altri manoscritti: l’edizione francese raccoglie così 9 lezioni inedite e sei già pubblicate (senza che ciò appaia molto chiaramente nel volume).
