By the author of 'The Ipcress File,' 'Funeral In Berlin,' 'SS-GB,' and about a gazillion others, and a writer about whom Life magazine said, "Next, big soft girls will read Len Deighton aloud in Jazz workshops." (I wonder if that ever happened?--if I knew a bunch of big soft girls I'd ask one). That tough, insubordinate spy guy from 'The Ipcress File,' 'Horse Under Water,' and 'Funeral In Berlin,' tangles with a ruthless, multi-millionaire, fanatic anti-Communist who has invested his vast fortune in a giant computer complex which sends instructions to cerebral mercenaries throughout the world. A bit of slant, dusty edges, two small brownish soil marks to fore-edge, light edgewear, off-setting to end papers. Funky silver foil dust jacket (2nd issue) w/bottom corner of front flap clipped, edgewear/short tears to top edge, edgewear to bottom, full length vertical crease to right edge of front flap, rubbing, some flaking, impressions, crinkling, gentle creases. A fragile jacket to begin with, it was probably pretty impressive when new, but has lost some of its lustre now. Good/Good.
