Stiff Card Wraps, Small Octavo -- from 7.75" to 9.75" Tall. the 103rd issue of the literary magazine published with the financial assistance of the University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University, and the first edited by Roger Ploude after health problems forced former editor Kent Thompson to step aside; this issue contains a poem by then-sixteen-year-old Edmonton native, Sparkle Hayter, long before she went on to become a hot-shot media star and best-selling mystery writer; it's entitled "Her Morbid Harvest," and perhaps it should have given us a clue as to where little Sparkle's literary bent would eventually take her ("Strangulation's such a simple/way to die,/and Death came quickly,/so why the axes?"); this issue also contains stories by C.J. Newman, Sorryl Hoffer, and Brian Bartlett, with poetry by George Amabile, Robert Bringhurst, Harry Thurston, Robert Cockburn, Elwin Moore, Barbara Rendall, Len Dickey and M. Travis Lane, with book reviews by Gillian Davies, Clare MacCulloch, and Mary Lund; moderate general wear;. Very Good.
