" --apparently by Bertha Stewart, although perhaps by Frank Berkeley Smith. Contemporary newspaper review of this novel tipped in, at the rear; the reviewer sees the "morbid decadent" style of the Beardsley cover illustration as one the reflects the style of this "novel of modern English life, " also.
