The illustrations include numerous views such as Basel, Bern, Brixen, Chamonix, Como, Erlenbach, Geneva, Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lugano, Milan, Padua, Reichenau, Schaffhausen, Schlanders, views of lakes, Lugano, Ivrea, Trient, Venice, Verona, Zug, etc. Cet ouvrage, paru un an après celui d'Albert Smith, contient les récits des premières ascensions du Mont-Blanc et de la Jungfrau.
