Many books in this African Writer's Series are trade paper originals, sewn signatures and heavy card stock. Occasionally Heinemann published hardbound edition under their regular imprint; given their scarcity they probably were very small editions probably no more than 500 copies. Contained in this issue, Abrahams, Achebe, Clarke, Ekwensi, Tutuola, Ngugi etc. Blind-stamped name else fine in decorated wraps. First issues of the early numbers are scarce.
