The first combined edition published as Jargon 24, most of which were paperbound. Originally published by Jonathan Williams in Germany in two volumes in 1953 and 1956. Brown cloth with pasted on front and back panels and spine label without dust jacket as issued. Moderately worn at the edges, with a note in ink ("a footnote = 'what seems to be a man's name'") on the dedication page and an ink mark on the back panel. A very good copy of the uncommon mid-century masterpiece. .
