Terry Fox was a young British Columbia athlete who, when faced with the amputation of a leg as result of osteogenic sarcoma, decided to make something positive of it. With the aid of a prosthetic leg and the support of family and friends, he trained to run marathons. The outcome was the inspirational Marathon of Hope - a proposed run across Canada to raise funds for cancer research. Unfortunately his run was stopped short in Thunder bay due to the recurrence of his cancer. Thankfully, his efforts were continued and in the 21 years since his death in 1981 almost three hundred million has been raised for cancer research in his name.. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket .
