When he arrived he discovered that there was no school house.... " His students only spoke Cree so he had to learn the language. Kelly Lake was a small Metis community located just south of Dawson Creek on the BC side of the BC/Alberta border. This enterprising young man kept a diary of the 2 years he spent there as a teacher. This experience in the the north of British Columbia only stimulated his love for the area. Andrews went on to become Surveyor General and Boundaries Commissioner for British Columbia.. Very Good+ .
