The pages on which the photos have been mounted show some rippling along the edges. ; 328 + 310 pages; Cream vellum covered boards have elaborate gilt and red design front and back with gilt design and title on spine, red onlay design on front board with gauffured book edges and inner edge extending to pastedowns. Extra-illustrated with 62 albumen photographs mounted on blank pages throughout the 2 books. All edges gilt. Silk bookmarks are fragile and have separated from the headbands. On this variant the title only appears in gilt on the spine. On the base of spine are the words Cole Florence - probably meaning that this variant was distributed to a bookseller named Cole in Florence. Contact me for further information or digital photos.
