An appealing small volume, measuring just 5 5/8 i by 4 1/8 inches with the orginal illustrations of this classic and rather controversial children's story. Preface from the translator describing this as the story that Bannerman's daughters much preferred of all the stories she made up. Translated by Madeleine Bleriot Johnson. Very good- in red cloth with a pasted on illustration on the front cover. A little spotting to the front cover, a few pages are somewhat loose, but still attached. A nice copy of an uncommon book.
