Book was owned by Gloria Jones, the widow of James Jones, the author of "From here to Eternity". Gift inscription written from Giles to Gloria Jones. A very interesting typed and signed very personal letter is laid in from James R. Giles to Gloria Jones dated May 1983 in which Giles says that he hopes she will enjoy the book and an explanation of his feelings about a novel he is writing. It is not stated which novel, presumably Gloria would know, but really spells out, in a disheartening and depressed way, his response to early criticisms of the novel. Giles also mentions a role he is to have in a movie about James Jones. Giles comments on a relationship failure he had with someone names "Shaye".
