The Medical Museum.
NP. N.D. 8vo. 112pp, folding plate, fine head-piece, decorated capital. Later plain paper re-spine, stab-sewn. Very light spotting & browning. Contains 11 pieces, concluding with 'Foreign Medical Literary Intelligence' There are two entries in ESTC for this title, both agree that 3 volumes were published during 1763-1764; the foregoing is confirmed by BUCOP. In spite of the printed Vol. VI in the lower margin of B1 this is Vol IV which, from the contents, may be dated 1766.. Whatever preceded B1 is lacking and we cannot say whether anything after P[4] was printed. One pointer is the note at page 109 'to be concluded ... in our next number' however there is is no catchword to the final leaf verso and the statement above does not guarantee that there any further issues. Come what may, this is a rare piece, extending the history of the periodical, thought to conclude in 1764. However there is an ESTC listing (System number 002848388) for a 1781 edition 2 of 1-112pp.
