The text is illustrated with thirty-two black and white photographs. Rose coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. The author, comes out of hospital after a serious operation, and decides to take a motoring holiday in the vast open spaces. In three months, he travels 16,822 miles around Australia, in a quest of adventure and information. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the top book corners and lower book edges. Light tanning and a few foxing spots to the text block edges with age toning of the pages. Did Professor Sydney Sparkes Orr seduce his eighteen-year-old student as she claimed or was he framed by a sinister cabal who disliked his politics as he and his supporters insisted? Was this a case of sexual exploitation or an example of McCarthyism down under? The book itself is in the fine condition, the dustjacket is slightly darkened on the spine section and has a little rubbing to the top edge. Offset tanning to front and rear free end pages.
