The text is illustrated with thirty-two black and white photographs. Rose coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. The author, comes out of hospital after a serious operation, and decides to take a motoring holiday in the vast open spaces. In three months, he travels 16,822 miles around Australia, in a quest of adventure and information. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the top book corners and lower book edges. Light tanning and a few foxing spots to the text block edges with age toning of the pages. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The Orr Case was Australia's cause celebre of the 1950s and 1960s. Did Professor Sydney Sparkes Orr seduce his eighteen-year-old student as she claimed or was he framed by a sinister cabal who disliked his politics as he and his supporters insisted? Was this a case of sexual exploitation or an example of McCarthyism down under? The book itself is in the fine condition, the dustjacket is slightly darkened on the spine section and has a little rubbing to the top edge. Offset tanning to front and rear free end pages.
