| CREASY, SIR EDWARD S., The Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World. New York;, Limited Editions Club. 1969. First thus, limited to 1500 copies of which this is No.347. Signed by the artist. Illustrated with fifteen full-page prints printed from color wood blocks by the renowned artist, Joseph Domjan. He also made fifteen small black-and-white woodcuts---one for each of the synopses of world events with which Creasy bridged the time gap between battles. The end papers were also done by Domjan with woodcuts of a map of Europe and the Middle East and an inset of Saratoga. 12 1/2 x 9 5/8. For the binding, Domjan photographed the woodcut for the Battle of Marathon, blew it up to half again as big as the original block and then printed it in duotone in deep blue on heavy buckram. The spine has a leather title label with gold letters. Fine in a Near Fine slip case.
