Just a sample: "DAMP SIGHT/ Hills, grass, glassa nd canes/system recalling atime, a way of telling time, tilling land,/ couched/meated,/dried and heated/forces,/met and gathering." Got it? The drawings are doodle-ish, but perhaps if the book were performed.. Inscribed, signed, and dated (10/26/70) inside front cover. In Very Good condition: some toning, one corner creased, a bit of foxing to covers near spine fold. Very Good/Issued Without Jacket. Signed by Artist.

The texts are in English, Spanish, Chinese, German, Arabic, and Swahili. The drawings are almost fantastic and humanoid. Very hard to describe this beautifully produced genuine artist's book, which resembles a sketchbook that includes drawings, notes, and some finished works. There are TWO copies: no. 167 and no. 176 of an edition of 500 (written in the artist's hand). Bound in decorated cardboard (and includes some cardboard "pages")-the decorations on the bindings are different and the artist's signature is rendered differently, while the contents are identical. Sort of a catalogue for an exhibition held at the Temporary Contemporary, December 13, 1988-February 26, 1989, but also a delightful little (7 in. x 4 in.) artist's book created to accompany an exhibition. Accordioned into an 8-panel black and white photograph of part of the work presented in the exhibition on one side, and text and 8 black and white images of the "characters" in the performance piece "Gim-Crack"-bound by metal "boards". Enclosed is a 10-panel brochure and exhibition checklist. Fine condition, with original paper band. Fine/Fine.
