A very good copy. The work contains information not likely to be found elsewhere about Carlisle in particular and Cumberland in general, including brief sketches of the lives of some Carlisleans, e. g., John Howard, the prison reformer, as well as a list of government officers, the principal merchants and tradesmen, and other worthies.
