Solomon Grildrig was the pseudonym of Thomas Rennell, H. G. Knight, George Canning and the sons of the Marquis of Wellesley. It was first published as a serial periodical, starting 1 April 1804 and concluding with its 34th issue on 1 April 1805. Shelley was a pupil at Eton during this period. The Preface for this second edition apologizes for errors in the serial publication, which are corrected in this printing. Copac locates copies of this second edition in the BL and the Bodleian.
