FIRST HENSHAW EDITION. 2 volumes. 12mo (in 6s), pp. 71 [72 blank]; [ii], 72, additional engraved title, two engraved plates, contemporary lightly mottled calf, gilt spine; no front paste-down end-paper or preliminary leaves before engraved title, which has some off-setting from leather, rear free end-paper creased and detached, both hinges a little tender, upper front and rear joint cracked, with slight loss of leather at top of spine and front joint. Jenkin, 1775. 2 volumes in 1. 12mo, pp. [ii], 192; [ii], [25] - 120, 289 - 384, recently recased in quarter calf, gilt rules across pine, red morocco label, marbled boards; stain at inner margin of first leaf of text in volume 1, but a very good copy. One of three editions published in Dublin in 1775. The curious pagination apparently derives from the printer's attempt to replicate the pagination in the London one-volume edition. An earlier owner has written in pencil at the top of p. 289, "nothing is omitted here - the pages are wrongly numbered." Fleeman 751j/4, p. 1211. FIRST DUBLIN EDITION, first issue, first state. 8vo, pp. [iv], 536, with pp. 143-44 repeated on L1, 3 final blank leaves at end, contemporary calf, red leather label; bookplate removed from end-paper, front joint slightly cracked, spine creased and threatening to split in top two panels. With the early autographs "W. H. Carter" and "R. N. Hunter" on the recto of the front free end-paper. This first volume of the pirated Dublin edition appeared before the London edition.
