TOM WOLFE.  An Original hand-written (als) letter signed by Tom Wolfe.
Nov. 5, 1968. A Unique ALS. Dear Dick, (Written to Mr. Richrd Gehman), At the Society of Magazine Writers I did no more than make the deep bow in your direction that any self-respecting magazine writer ought to make. Meanwhile, I am trying to whomp up a Hugh Troy obit that will please your wily eye. I was delighted to get this chance to talk a spell with you, finally, that dayin the Ritz-Carlton, home of Non: accredited egret doors... Salute Tom (with all the accompanying curlicues). With the date of Nov. 5, 1968 set off in an irregular circle resembling a sliceof bread. The envelope is present with Wolf's name and address on the rear flap in ink. Written in dark black fountain pen on two sides of a sheet of heavy stock folded in thirds. Classic Wolfe style. A very handsome and collectible piece.

With "Office on Dwight D. Eisenhower" printed letterhead October 20, 1952. A Unique TLS discussing the fine work Mr. Neulen and other Eisenhower-Nixon movement supporters are doing. Five paragraphs devotd to the topic, ending with ' I know you feel as strongly as I do that we must work day and night and personally sacrifice far beyond the normal call to duty to succees in this crusade. We must put put party lines and all personal prejudice behind us, nd go forward to victoy." Dear Mr. Neulen: I am intensely gratified to learn that you are holding your vitally importnt position in the Citizens organization. This makes us membbersof the same team. I personallycan do only so much; the important task of organization, of securing workers, and of getting out the voters who will vote for our team must rest upon your shoulders..." Walter williams has explained very graphically to me the fine work which you are doing in your state on behalf of the Eisenhower-Nixon ticket. I know and keenlyh appreciate more than anyone else that if our ticket is succesful in November, that success, in large measure, will be due to your efforts..." Typed Letterhead: 52 Tavistock Square, London, WC 1; 14th Nov. 1927. A Unique TLS. "Dear Mr. Sedgwick, I must thank you for the additional cheque for my article on the novels of E.M. Forester which reached me safely; and also for your letter. I am extremely sorry that there should have been any confusion between us as to the payment or as to the right of separate publication. With many thanks for your letter, Believe me, yours sincerely, (signed Virginia Woolf in purple ink and underscored in the middle). Then beneath her signature a typed (Mrs Woolf.) Typed in blue ink on blue laid paper which has been folded in fourths. With a little bit of wear in the center, underneath the "sion" in confusion at the center of the folds. Otherwise a very handsome letter indeed with the scarce Virginia Wolf signature.
