New York. Random House. 1958. First Edition with "First Printing" stated on the copyright page. The book "Breakfast at Tiffany's" includes the novella: "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and thre shorter pieces: "House of Flowers," "A Diamond Guitar," and "A Christmas Memory." A very good copy in mustard-colored finely woven cloth stamped brightly in black and gilt on the spine. Very clean and unmarked throughout. With light topstaining. In a colorful pictorial orange dustjacket featuring a charcoal sketch of Capote on the rear panel. Jacket designed by Ismar David. The inside front flap has the original price of $3.00 at the top and the requisite 10/58 at the bottom of the flap. The jacket is lightly chipped and missing some small pieces at the top and bottom of the spine ends as well as at the corners. The orange spine is sunfaded, making it difficult to see the white lettering of the titles. The black inked "Truman Capote" and "Random House" are very clear. Overall, a handsome, collectible copy.

Specially inscribed by Capote to D.D. Ryan and her husband, who was the stage manager for "House of Flowers." A uniquely inscribed copy: In 1954, while working with her friend Truman Capote, Mrs. Ryan met her husband on the set of ÒHouse of FlowersÓ where Mr. Ryan was the stage manager. This copy is presented to Mr. John Barry Ryan III (ÒJohnnyÓ), and his wife, D.D. Ryan (Dorinda Dixon Ryan), fashion designer at HarperÕs Bazaar where she worked with Diana Vreeland.Ó This copy of ÒBreakfast at TiffanyÕsÓ is personally and uniquely inscribed on a card which has been affixed apparently by Truman Capote with four mustard-colored circular blobs of sealing wax which is similar in color to the orange cloth binding of the book. The ink inscription on the card reads: ÒFor Johnny, for D.D., from Truman, with his loveÐÓ This book is from a large collection of books from the estate of D.D. Ryan which were purchased at CoyleÕs Auction Gallery in January of 2008. A very good copy in mustard-colored finely woven cloth stamped brightly in black and gilt on the spine. The spine is orange and unfaded with the white title and theblack ink of the author and publisher very clearly printed against the orange background. The rear panel is lightly soiled with a few small closed tears at the top and bottom edges. The front panel has a 4" long reflex fold at the top edge, just into the orange portion with short closed tears at either end.
