Almost certainly a 1st edition .Complete with paper covers. 40 pages of libretto of ' an entirely aesthetic opera 'in two acts. First produced on April 23rd 1881 and cast list re-produced though only Scenery designer, dress designed by author and dressmaker named and also dance arranger are named. The 1st edition opinion is based upon the advertising for the Pirates of Penzance Vocal & piano score music on the inside page which 'are now ready' and the dance and vocal music for half price. The Patience music on the back page is full price and the vocal and piano scores not yet available. The inside back page advertises Audran's Olivette and once again the vocal and piano score ' is now ready'. Olivette commenced a 466 night run on 18th Sept 1880. reasons enough to affirm this libretto to be a 1st edition. A few light spot on bottom of front cover else condition VG.
