| Bias in the Zundel Case - Understanding History Canada, Samisdat. Stapled, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 20 pages. Circa 2000. An 80 point memorandum of law filed by Ernst Zundel's lawyers in 2000. Sets out facts and argues that Justice Campbell's Federal Court of Canada decision was correct regarding bias and that Zundel should not have been forced to be judged by a Canadian Human Rights Commission tribunal in the circumstances extant. "In a May 14, 1998 editorial entitle 'Justice Deniers', the Ottawa Citizen wrote that since the Human Rights Tribunal had been found to be systematically biased, 'it is not possible for Mr. Zundel, or anyone else, to have a fair hearing before a Canadian Human Rights Tribunal as these tribunals are now constituted.' Ernst Zundel continues to fight to obtain justice before a fair and impartial tribunal. His case will be the standard against which the rights of all other Canadians will be measured." - from page 2. | BERMAN, MORRIS The Twilight of American Culture New York, NY, U.S.A. W. W. Norton & Company, Incorporated. 2000, First Printing. (ISBN: 0393048799) Hard Cover with dust jacket, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 204 pages including index. A trenchant examination of America's cultural decline and a unique treatise on what we can do to preserve our intellectual heritage. Whether examining the corruption at the heart of modern politics, the "Rambification" of popular entertainment, or the collapse of our school systems, Berman's analysis makes it clear that there is little we can do as a society to stave off the relentless momentum of the mass-mind culture that grows with each gargantuan corporate merger. Our only recourse, he argues, is cultural preservation, which is a matter of individual conscience, including a refusal to base our lives on profit or consumerism. Unread. Unmarked. Zero wear.
