CAHAN, ABRAHAM  Bleter Fun Mayn Leben
No Publisher Given. 1926. Hard Cover. Bleter Fun Mayn Leben [??? I cannot read Yiddish and can only guess by the copyright date that this book is a volume from Cahan’s autobiography]. 1926. No city or publisher given in English. Believed first edition. With six photos, a frontis I believe to be the author, a photo of a woman dated 1896, and a photo of a man(perhaps an earlier picture of Cahan) as well as a few other photos of various unidentifiable people. Abraham Cahan, born in Russia, emigrated to the US and became an influential voice in the Yiddish speaking community, speaking on the side of labor and socialist causes. Cahan also founded and edited the important Yiddish language newspaper, Forward. This book, believed to be one of five volumes of his autobiography, is in GOOD+ condition. What appears to be a small white smudge of paint on the front cover. Very light soiling. Light rubbing. Light pulling, fading and fraying to the spine. Inner text clean and solid with the page with the photo of the woman DETACHED and laid in. Pages a bit toned. Nice copy of this very hard to find work in GOOD+ condition. Good/No Jacket.
