The Distrest Mother was translated by Ambrose Philips from the Andromaque of Racine; Douglas, a Tragedy was written by John Home; Jane Shore, a Tragedy written by N. Rowe; The Earl of Essex a Tragedy written by Henry Jones. Bound in full calf leather with gilt banding on the spine. In GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy scuffing to the covers, especially the spine. Minor soiling. Uneven fading and darkening. Extremities scuffed with the corners bumped and rounded and the spine pulled. Leather beginning to split at the top and bottom hinges. Covers are still intact and solid. Inner text is solid and intact. Scattered foxing throughout, some minor some moderate. A few pages have minor dampstains in their upper margins. A few passages have pencil tick marks next to them. Previous owner's signature in ink on the ffep. Pen markings to the last blank endpaper. A nice copy in GOOD condition. Good/No Jacket.
