, 1920 N.A. W.T. Niagara Falls. Here with Bells on. Schutz Bros. Pinback
1920 N.A. W.T. Niagara Falls. Here with Bells on. Schutz Bros. Pinback
New York, Schutz Bros. Producer, 1920. Unbound. Approximately 1 ¾ inches in diameter. Red, white and navy blue on the face. Stickpin style back (almost lethal in length!). Despite many searches and inquiries to libraries and historical societies, we could not determine what N.A.W.T. stood for. Given that this pinback was issued with the compliments of Schutz Brothers, located at 152 Chambers in New York, NY, it is possible this was issued for a gathering of wood turners, as Schutz manufactured turned and locked corner boxes. Handwriting on the reverse indicates this may have been given out on June 14, 1920. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning and rubbing to the face. Minor rusting to the reverse. Very Good .

Adlai Stevenson for President Committee Archive of Correspondence, Mailings, Press Releases, Etc. All Circa 1956. Perhaps 150-200 Pieces
No Place, No publisher. Unbound. Adlai Stevenson For President Committee Archive of Correspondence, Mailings, Press Releases, etc. All circa 1956. Perhaps 150-200 pieces. Most single typed sheets or memos, with a few Adlai Stevenson newsletters, telegrams, etc. Three letters appear signed by Adlai Stevenson, although it is not known whether it was him signing, or a secretarial signature. The archive is from a well-connected insurance company executive who appears to have been active in Democratic politics. The archive has a vast amount of duplicate copies of original typed letters sent by the previous owner, as well as responses, mostly relating to fundraising events, donations, etc. Seating arrangements for events present, as well as lists of donors, etc. The typed letters from Stevenson (signed by him) seem to address the previous owner on a personal level, so they may have known each other. Adlai Stevenson was a governor of Illinois, and ran for president in 1952 and 1956, losing to Eisenhower both times. He served as the US Ambassador to the UN from 1961 to 1965. All in GOOD condition, with two hole punches at the top edge. Minor creasing and wear, with pencil notations to many of the pieces. Good .

Ziegfeld, a master promoter and user of media, fed American papers semi-lurid or exotic tales of Held, creating a public sensation before she even arrived. From 1896 to 1910 she was one of Broadway's most popular actors. Held and Ziegfeld were common law spouses, until Ziegfeld began an affair in 1909 with another actress and married yet another performer in 1914. GOOD condition. Annual Service at the Old Alna Church, Center Alna, Maine Broadside Advertisement
No Place, No Publisher. Unbound. Annual Service at the Old Alna Church, Center Alna, Maine Broadside advertisement. No publisher, place or date. Presumed Maine, circa 1953. Single card stock sheet, 12 ¼ by 9 ¼ inches. A broadside, with photo, advertising a service to be held at the Old Meeting House in Alna, also called the Old Alna Church. It was built in 1789, making it one of the oldest meetinghouses in the state of Maine. Most of the original interior was preserved, and in 1970, the meetinghouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The reverse has a lengthy handwritten note, ostensibly from Harold L. Ickes and from the US Department of the Interior, declaring the meetinghouse worthy of preservation for future generations. Signature does not match Ickes', and this was perhaps transcribed from another source. GOOD condition. Superficial silverfishing to the surface of the broadside, mostly along the right edge. Moderate toning, some soiling and minor foxing. A few bumps and creases at the corners. Good .

Egyptian Magic Coin/Watch Fob Ca 1905
No Place, No Producer. Unbound. Egyptian Magic Coin/Watch Fob. No producer, place or date. Perhaps Sears and Roebuck, circa 1905. Either brass or bronze metal, a little over 1 ¼ inches in diameter. A coin or watch fob piece created in the early 1900s, by a variety of makers, capitalizing on the Egyptian revival fad in US popular culture at the turn of the century. Four different styles have been documented, with this one bearing a bird with a short beak on the Sphinx side, and three balls to the right of the seated pharaoh on the other side. Sears and Roebuck issued a piece such as this, sold as a watch fob, first in 1905, and then in 1907. GOOD condition. Heavy rubbing, with some soiling and tarnishing, to the coin. The rubbing has resulted in the loss of defined features. Small loop at the top. Good .
