Tissue-guarded mezzotint portrait frontispiece of the artist, many monochrome illustrations throughout. The book has been re-cased by Remnant & Edmonds of London who have preserved the original boards, the spine has a new brown calf backstrip with the original illustrated paper laid to it, this original paper covering the spine has lost 60 mm to its head, although preserving the author's name, John Murray 1851, and the original price of 21s. Small bumps to the edges and corners, light foxing to the frontispiece and without any other foxing to the paper, scarce original paper covered boards of this desirable book.
