MAJOR MONOGRAPH on ten years work undertaken by the Fundación Tarea that began in 1985 when the Fundación Antorchas agreed to fund the inventory of artistic objects being compiled for the Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes. The results showed a great need for restoration of many of the works. Thus was born the workshop "TAREA" (Taller de Restauro de Arte). Since some of the inventory were paintings from the colonial period, it was decided that TAREA would restore colonial art, starting with paintings. The project was not able to continue beyond paintings. Over the ten year period they treated some 400 works, the majority of which were colonial paintings from throughout Argentina. The list of works and their provenance can be found in the Spanish text. A BASIC REFERENCE. LIMITED EDITION OF 1500. SPANISH AND ENGLISH TEXTS.
