[FERRARI, LEÓN].  León Ferrari: Obras = Works 1976 - 2008.
México, D.F., Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes; Museo de Arte Alvar y Carmen T. de Carrillo Gil; Editorial RM, 2008, 141p b/w and color plates, ind., bio., cat., endpaper, illus., pict. boards 28x21.5cm ISBN: 9789708020862 (Inba); 9789685208901 (RM); 9788492480241 (RM Verlag). As poetic as he is controversial, the renowned Argentinean Conceptualist León Ferrari (who was forced to live in exile in Brazil from 1976 to 1991, and who won a Golden Lion award at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007) is known for his fierce criticism of power and religion--both as an artist and as a journalist. This first major retrospective monograph brings together a selection of heliographs, drawings and collages which fiercely criticize Argentinean dictatorship, conservative religion and American authority--among many other heavily loaded subjects. It also features a selection of recent works, produced between 2004 and 2008, which include his well-known polyurethane sculptures. Throughout, Ferrari's work shuns quiet, undisturbed or serene contemplation, instead loudly joining denouncement with beauty, bliss with anguish, joy with fury. With scholarly essays by distinguished experts, an in-depth interview and a selection of texts by Ferrari himself. ENGLISH AND SPANISH TEXTS.

[MONTEIRO, VICENTE DO REGO]. SCHWARTZ, JORGE (ORG).  Do Amazonas a Paris: As Lendas Indigenas de Vicente Do Rego Monteiro.
São Paulo, Impresa Oficial do Estado, EDUSP, 2005, 4 Vols. (46),(20),(96),(36)p b/w plates, illus., draws., facs., bibl., duo tone wrps., string bound b/w pict wrps, inserted in double side cardboard frame with draws and silk ribbons inside translucent box in box 29 x 26 x 3 cm ISBN: 8531409217 (EDUSP); 8570604092 (Imprensa Oficial do Estado). Deluxe edition kit that includes facsimile reproductions with a Portuguese translation of the publications "Légendes, croyances et talismans des Indiens de l'Amazone" and "Quelques Visages de Paris" edited in France between 1923 and 1925 by Rego Monteiro (b. Brazil 1889-1970) and considered bibliographic jewels of Latin America Modernism. The first book illustrated in a mixture of Marajo culture motifs and Japanese orientalism aesthetically celebrates the Amazonian Indians Tapuia and Tupi cosmogony legends and beliefs. The other reproduced book is a parody of the old European travelers who came to Brazil and where Rego Monteiro sarcastically describes and reproduces the main tourist points of the light city of Paris: the Eiffel tower ("They are the rubbles of the tower of Babel"), the Trocadero ("It was with the biggest squeeze in the heart that I saw my ancestral in strange positions"), the arc of the Triumph, among others. The primitivism geometric drawings of Rego Monteiro are a mixture of Art Déco and Marajo motifs. FRENCH AND PORTUGUESE TEXT. LIMITED EDITION OF 1000.

This issue is one of two limited and numbered edition titled PE, signed by Vicente Rojo and José M. Ullán. Artist book, numbered and signed containing a collaboration editorial project where author José-Miguel Ullán presents his poems beautifully illustrated by artist Vicente Rojo with a series of acquaforte and serigraphy prints. The book was publisher by Intaglio in charge of Isaac Masri and Elias Fasja, the prints were engraved in metallic plaques in the workshop Ciento Ochenta Grados, Editores, and the part that includes the serigraphy part and edition was done in Ediciones Multiarte, under the technical direction of Cottane. Born in Barcelona, 1932, he studied Ceramics and Sculpture in Spain. In 1949 he moved to Mexico, and continued his art studies at La Esmeralda, Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado in Mexico. He was member of the group of Mexican plastic artists who departed from the Mexican School of Painting known as the Ruptura, whose principal leaders were Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, and David Alfaro Siqueiros. Vicente Rojo has been recognized as the most remarkable designer for the most important cultural magazines of Mexico, such as the Bellas Artes Magazine from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and Artes de México. In 1991 he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Arte and the Mexico Prize, for design. In 1993 he was entitled as Emeritus Creator by the Sistema Nacional de Creadores and was awarded the Golden Medal to the Mérito de Bellas Artes in Spain. In 1998, he was designated Member of El Colegio Nacional, and entitled as Doctor Honoris Causa by the UNAM. The paintings of Vicente Rojo are essentially abstract, but with the sensibility and the discipline of his graphic technique. Mexico bajo la lluvia is perhaps the most beautiful series of his works
