Colour ad fro watkins Cook Book. Owner's name and adress, owner's inscription to the title page, nice copy about VG+ in Good only Dj with crease and edge faults. Dj is in mylar sleeve. NY, Harper & Brothers. 1948. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. White wipeable fabric over bds with plaid of blue and red lines and title in blue, printed endpapers, 320pp, index. The first edition of this book was published just after the turn of the 29th century by a publisher of religious books who compiled recipes submitted by American women from all over the country. This trade edition is compiles 1500 recipes chosen from more than five thousand submitted by church people in response to a call by the Brethren Publishing House for reliable and wholesome recipes. Each recipes includes the contributor's name and hometown. The statement "No recipe requires the use of wines or liquor." appears on the Dustjacket and in two places within the book. No markings, clean solid VG+ copy in unclipped about Good Dj with edges worn with creases and tears; Dj is in mylar sleeve. (1.6 lbs FO 36/4. Very Good +/Good.

Weymouth MA, The Author. 1947, 5th Printing. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Green cloth with gold titles, 157pp, index. Frontis and B&W photos some showing cake decorations, smaples of baked goods, sugar basket, table displays. This book first appeared in 1928 a book of recipes and techniques for the commercial baker covering French, Viennese, Danish pastries, cake decoration, pound, sponge, angel cakes, jelly rolls, pies and fillings, icings and toppings, sweet doughs, breads and rolls. This edition starts off with a recipe for a Silver Anniversary cake weighing 2500 pounds: "First a table was built, 6 x 5 feet..mounted on ball-bearing anti-friction caster wheels..." There are a good selection of recipes and the photos are quite clear. No markings, rubbing to cover edges and corner tips, small white spot to back cover, Good used copy; no Dj. (1.5 lbs FO 41/5). Good.

(USA) No markings,page very clean without toning to edges, the book is tight and sauare, there is a tny rubbed spot to the front cover near the upper corner, just showing the boards underneath the white cover paper, Near Fine; no dust jacket pershaps as published. 12mo, off white cloth with titles in black with the slogan "The Way to a Man's heart" across the top of the front cover, green end papers, B&W portrait frontis of Kander, xlvi, 623pp. All edges red. Hundreds of tested recipes from the Settlement Cooking Classes, the Milwaukee Public School Kitchens, The School of Trades for Girls, and Experienced Housewives. Superior copy. (2.2 JM FO 40/4. B&W illus and line drawings. This hadbook was first published in 1926; this is the 4th printing of the fourth edition. Nash is here identified as Examiner of the national Council for Domestic Studies, late member of the National Training College of Domestic Subjects and late member of the Battersea Training College of Domestic Studies. There are 34 chapters and a questionnaire, starting with the Kitchen, Principles of Nutrition, Storage of Food, cooking of food under numerous chapters with recipes and techniques. Owner's name, pen marking to page 18, the corenr of page 158 has been torn and repaired with tape, light rubbing to corner tips and spine extremities, good +; no Dj. (1.5 Fo 35/2). Good.
