The unusually high level of contributing Western authors including Professors Ettinghausen, Hitti, Lambton, Newman and Wilfred Cantwell Smith probably is partly attributable to the convening of the International Islamic Colloquium at Punjab University, Lahore. Several of the articles discuss it.
