An attempt to document the famed massecre of more than one hundred Britons during the 1756 siege of Fort William, Calcutta by the Nabob of Bengal, Siraj-ud Daulah, and 50,000 of his Muslim followers. Noel Barber (1909-1988) is the famed British journalist and correspondent of the Daily Mail whose own adventures worldwide were portrayed in the 1979 film, This Is Your Life. He also wrote six best-selling novels.

NF/VG.The "first detailed study of the British government's late 18th century attempt to reorganize the East India Company's army". It was defeated by the Company's officers and led to the ruin of the governor-general, Sir John Shore. The author was a professor at the University of Delaware at the time of writing.

Written by John Stuart Mill (1806-1873) who was Chief of Office of the East India Company at the time of writing.
