The Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library, described by leading Muslim historian K.K.Aziz as having "the finest and the richest collection of Islamic manuscripts in the subcontinent" (The Pakistani Historian, 1994, p 26) also has a substantial number of old and important editions of books in European languages according to its Librarian, Shahabuddin Khuda Bakhsh. The Editor, Abul Hassan Khan, was his predecessor. One description of the library lists its printed books at 80,000 with 8,000 manuscripts and 2,000 original paintings from the Moghul and Rajput eras.
