New York, NY, Funk & Wagnalls, 1969. First Edition. Hard Cover. SIGNED and inscribed by author. Presentation copy to Dorothy Brown of the Metropolitan Club. Good in a good jacket some sunning to edges and the jacket shows some light edge-wear (small nicks/chips). Binding slightly cocked (less than 10 degrees) but solid. The book was not only signed and inscribed by Franzius, but 7 greeting cards were laid-in (mostly medieval art subjects) all signed by Franzius, and a letter invitng members of the Metropolitan Club to a 1967 lecture by the author. Jacket in new Brodart protector. Good/Good.

 - PRINCE CHULA OF THAILAND; SULTANAH OF JOHOR  First-Class Ticket: The Travels of a Prince [Signed]
London, Alvin Redman, 1958. Hard Cover. SIGNED and inscribed by author. Heavily personalized Association copy. Signed "To S. R. Smit [Sicco R. Smit] with many thanks for your always ready help and in souvenir of happy trips. --Chula of Thailand, March 28th 1958" with an additional hand-written letter tipped onto the FEP from Chula's wife "Elizabeth Chakrabongse" (maiden name Elizabeth Hunter] inviting the purser (presumabely Mr. Smit] to dinner with herself and her husband. Also tipped-in is a menu with the cover title "Koninklijke Rotterdamsche Lloyd" dated January 21st, 1961 signed by the Prince, his wife and numerous dinner guests, some of which are: Liz Bushton; Peter Montgomery; Sultanah of Johor --Malaysian Royalty (the rest I can't make out]. Also layed-in is a 1964 obit of prince Chula from the daily telegraph and a bookplate from Mr. Smit with an oceanic / sunrise theme. The prince was cousin and manager to Bira Chakrabongse race car driver and "one of the leading exponents of this voiturette class of international racing". Book is square and solid. Light blue boards with gilt lettering and some sunning to spine. A few small scuffs/stains to back cover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket.
