Candy Barr was one of the first blue movie stars, appearing in an early, widely circulated stag film "Smart Alek". She was also a friend of Jack Ruby, dated notorious mobster Mickey Cohen, and coached Joan Collins on how to portray an exotic dancer in the 1960 film "Seven Thieves." She wrote this collection of poetry (which alludes heavily to her colorful life) during a stint in prison for marijuana possession. She died in 2006.
