. This item is an autograph of William Rose Benet written on the letterhead of the publishing firm of Brewer & Warren Inc. Benet is shown as Editor. The address is 6 East Third St New York with phone and cable code, plus London office address printed on the bottom of the paper. There is no accompanying message or greeting. The paper has no date. There is an envelope with the logo of the company pre-printed diagonally in the corner of the envelope. The postmark appears to be dated April15, 1930 7 PM and the location is Grand Central Station. The cancellation stamp is over the logo, but readable. Size 11 x 8 1/2, folded twice, horizontally and vertically to fit the near square envelope. The ink signature is written diagonally across the near middle of the paper. The address on the envelope also appears to be in the hand of Benet. Clean and without wear.; Signed by Author.

CALDWELL, ERSKINE,   AUTOGRAPH Signed on Caldwell's Own Note Card.
. This autograph is on a note paper printed with Caldwell's name and the word Memorandum. The top of the memo paper held vertically has his name printed across the top of the paper which is 6 1/4" across. The word Memorandum is printed vertically on the bottom half of note paper which is 7" tall. There is a fold mark at the 3 1/2" middle. He addressed the note "To xxx xxx by Erskine Caldwell" under his name. There is a tiny ink smudge a little to the right of center on the bottom half. The envelope is typed and Caldwell's name is printed on the rear flap without a return address. The postmark is Phoenix, AZ. Part of the date is missing - all other letters in the collection are from 1978. There are two stamps - Frank Lloyd Wright - 2 cents and Capt. James Cook Hawaii 1778 - 13 cents. 8vo; Signed by Author.

. This item is a signed letter to a fan on his printed letterhead note paper (signed twice) , plus an envelope. The note paper is 7" high x 6" wide with a letterhead. It is printed with his name and address of 400 Fargo in Buffalo. The note is dated Sept 2, 1978. It is folded twice, horizontally. His autograph is in the center. He then signed the note on the lower right of the third portion of the note. The envelope is hand printed. The return shows only his last name and his address. The envelope is dated 2 Sep 1978 from Buffalo. Clean, fresh. The fold marks are subtle.

. This item is an autograph on the reverse side of a snapshot of Richard Eberhart in front of a portrait of Eberhart sent to a collector of autographs of poets. The portrait is a side view looking left. Eberhart is standing partly at the right corner of the painting - most of his head and neck are included in the photo. He inscribed the reverse side and signed his name the the date - June 1978. The envelope has his writtine signature with a return address in Hanover, NH. The envelope is postmarked White River Jct, VT. 1 Jul 1978. The outside dimensions of the photo are 3 1/2" high x 2 1/2" wide. The quality of the paper is fine - no wear. The quality of the photo can probably be described as a non-professional snapshot. Well cared for.

. This is a letter to an autograph request that appears to be written by John Galsworthy and possibly signed by Galsworthy though the letter includes a per pro qualifier. The letter is written in the first person (John Galsworthy) and is signed John Galsworthy, followed by p. P. A. G. Within parenthesis. The letter is addressed "Dear Madam If you will send to me at (give UK address) a cheque for (pound) 1.1.0 made payable to the Author's Society Pensions FUnd I will send you my autograph. I have been obliged tomake this rule recently. Yours truly John Galsworthy (p. P. A. G) ". The letter was mailed from Cote Basque Biarritz on March 10, 1930. . SIGNED. This is a simple playbill for a 1928 performance by Hardesty Johnson and Isabel Garland at the Highland Hall in Hollidaysburg, PA. The title is "A Joint Recital of Poetry and Song | Isabel Garland Hardesty Johnson | Friday Evening, November Sixteenth, Nine- |teen Hundred Twenty-Eight, at | Eight-fifteen O'clock" . The program was divided into four parts: American Songs, Songs of Romance, Songs of the Sea, Songs of the Middle Border. The programs included poetry by Sara Teasdale, John Masefield, writings of Hamlin Garland, and music of a variety of composers. Isabel Garland was the daughter of Hamlin Garland. She married Hardesty Johnson, a concert tenor. The playbill is signed by Johnson in large script and in pencil. Garland's signature is beneath his, in ink. They are written diagonally in the middle across the wording on the Playbill. The playbill is 8 1/4" high x 3 3/4" wide. It is printed on stock beige in brown ink, and is blank on the rear side. It has three horizontal fold marks. It appears it was folded twice to form three panels, then folded in half. The printed side is clean , the verso has a smudge and a hint of a crease. HOLBROOK, HAL,   AUTOGRAPH "MARK TWAIN TONIGHT" (Performance At DENISON UNIVERSITY).
. This is a Program from the February 13, 1962 performance by Holbrook at the Swasey Chapel, in Granville, Ohio. It was a benefit program to create a Scholarship in Theatre Arts at Denison University. The program is a single piece of a rectangular paper, folded twice to form six panels. It is 9 inches tall and 5 3/4 inches wide when folded. The autograph is to the right of a photo of Holbrook (36 years old) and above a photo of him made up as Twain. When opened the first page is a list of possible selections for the program. The second is background information about Holbrook and the purpose for this event. There are two pages of lists of donors to the scholarhsip. The back page is blank. There is a note that the idea for the Benefit program was his. He asked that all the proceeds go to establish the scholarship with interest from the principle to go to a student showing unusual dramatic talent. The list of selections has a clever note about why the program is tentative. And, there is a statement titled "Music". It says: "A trombone player was engaged, but is unreliable and should not be expected. " There is a tiny spot and a faint hint of a soft crease or two. Generally, well cared for. Holbrook graduated from Denison University.

. This is a postcard from Greece with a greeting, a date - ("VII. 78") and an added note - "Athens (where 'they all came to live') . He has written 'Aeropostal' in Greek under the address. The image on the postcard is a fragment of a grave stele from 560 B. C. - it Is a glossy photo of the head with a smile in cream and sepia tones. The cancel stamp is a little unreadable, the date should be August 1978. The stamp has an Olympic theme. Size 4" x 6". Good condition - slight crease on one corner, a tiny touch of wear to the tip of another corner. Blue ink, handwritten.; Signed by Author.

. This is a letter from Eddie Rickenbacker to Mr. Frank Dale who was President of the Mechanical Man. Rickenbacker was responsing to a letter by Dale commenting on a mix-up in reservations and a commendation of an employee of Easter Air Lines . Rickenbacker was President and General Manager. There is a reference to a former (ongoing? ) meeting . The letter is addressed "My dear Frank". : This typed letter is on Eastern Air Lines letterhead from the Rockefeller Plaza office of EAL at the time of this letter, July 11, 1949. There is mention of the Constellation aircraft. Signed in ink. There is a slight hint of a crease on the upper right corner. There are two fading fold marks typical for a letter. No envelope.
